This week has been epic. I’ve managed to get out on the trails nearly every single day. Casey and I have been meeting after work in Forest Park to shake out the day with a little run. I love it because it feels like little perfect dates smack in the middle of the week – it gives us time to talk and spend time together without distractions.
Tuesday, I started my day with a 6 am Rise, Shine & Flow class at YoYo Yogi. We got into dem hips and hamstrings and it felt soooo good.
After dog parking with Abbie, a little walk and a full day of work, I met Casey out on the trails for a run date. We ran the Ridge trail to Wildwood trail for a quick, fun 4.5 miler. It was raining (and even hailing a little) when we started but as soon as we were on the trails, it was clear skies. Felt so good to get out on the trails and made dinner taste all that much better!
Yesterday I had a BUSY day between work, meetings, appointments and everything in between. I decided to get back in the weight room for the second time this week (BOOM!) and did a little run workout as well:
- 1.5 mile warm-up (running to gym / took a little detour)
- 3.6 miles treadmill hills & sprints
- Started on 2.0 incline at 6.5 for 2 minutes warm-up
- 2.0 inclince 7.5 – 2 minutes
- 2.5 incline at 6.5 – 2 minutes
- 2.5 incline at 8.5 – 2 minutes
- 3 incline at 7 – 2 minutes
- 3 incline at 9 – 2 minutes
- 3 incline at 6.5 – 1 minute
- 4.5 incline at 7 – 1 minute
- 4.5 incline at 8.5 – 2 minutes
- 4.5 incline at 9.2 – 2 minutes
- 4.5 incline at 8 – 2 minutes
- 5 incline at 7 – 2 minutes
- 5 incline at 9.4 – 2 minutes
- 5 incline at 6 – 1 minute
- 3 incline at 7 – 1 minute
- 2 incline at 7 – 1 minute
- 0 incline at 9 – 1 minute
- Cool down
- Reverse lunges on the Bosu with bicep curls (15 lbs) – 3 X20
- Handlebar push-ups – 3×12
- Bosu squats – 30
- Push-ups – 25
- Hamstring extensions with 20 lbs – 20
- Push-ups – 15
- Hamstring & glute kicks with 10 lbs – 20
- Push-ups – 15
- Bosu squats – 30
- Push-ups – 15
- Kettlebell swings – 3×20
- In/out abs – 25
- Leg drops – 1:00
- Bicycles – 50
- Run home for cool down: 1 mile
I was pretty spent after my workout and run drills but still managed to meet Casey after work on the trails. The pooch didn’t get as many walks during the day because I was so jam packed so we brought her along and did a short 2 mile hike / jog with her instead. She had a ton of fun and basically zonked out for the rest of the night (ahhhhh, peace).
Today, I’m meeting up with #SweatPink sis Natalie for a waterfront run and then getting my yoga fix tonight with Karolynh at YoYo Yogi.
AND TOMORROW ALYSE COMES! YAY! YAY! YAY!
Epic week. Seriously. So epic. 🙂
