It’s true, we all need to reignite our inner inspiration sometimes, especially when it comes to staying on track with healthy living goals. It’s definitely not easy to go full speed ahead 100% of the time.
There are ways to train ourselves and our lifestyles to give us consistent reminders and motivation boosts. They help us stay committed, which allows us to see great results in the end.
I have been loving all of the tips, tricks and stories on Instagram today as part of the #liveinprana #1millionminutes challenge week and decided to put together 7 tips of my own on reinvigorating your fitness, healthy living, and motivation.
Start the day with a shot of Positivity
When you wake up in the morning, or at any point in the day when you have a moment to yourself, think about how far you’ve come in your healthy living journey. Even if you’re just starting out, having the will and intention to change are the first steps to launching yourself onto the right path. Gratitude and appreciation can really go a long way and remind you why you started.
Fitness Buddy(ies)
Keep yourself accountable to your fitness routine by sharing healthy living goals with a fitness friend. When you feel like there’s someone else working hard, struggling, and making progress on their own fitness path, you’re more likely to identify with them and in turn, feel more motivated to work hard.
Join a Fitness or Healthy Living community
Look into local fitness groups like running clubs, yoga groups, cooking clubs, etc to meet new people and fitness friends. Or join an online fitness community like SweatPink that can connect you with people from across the globe. Not only will you be able to share and learn from others, but you’ll also exponentially grow your fitness network.
Write it Down
Consider starting a fitness journal or blog. The point is not to critique yourself from what you’ve jotted down but to see your patterns and identify what’s working and what isn’t working for you. And be sure to clearly write down your goals. When you see your goals written down, they become more solid and attainable in your mind.
Or consider writing down your weekly workout schedule in on your calendar to help you remember to stick to your fitness plan. The same goes for healthy eating; you can avoid coming home and scarfing down whatever you can find in the kitchen if you list out your planned meals for the week and stick it to the outside of your refrigerator.
Stop Comparing
Sometimes those Instagram feeds can be really inspiring and other times..well we can’t help but compare. It’s a good idea to take a step back or take a break from the social media feeds, and remind yourself that comparisons aren’t productive. It’s what you’re doing that matters the most for you.
Have Some Fun!
Make your workouts fun so that you don’t dread them. Go for a light jog with your dog or some friends, or take a new fitness group class to get outside of your comfort zone. At the end of the day, laugh at the lows, smile with the highs, and never give up. Have fun sweating!
Grab Some New Threads!
My husband might not approve of this message but sometimes all you need is a little wardrobe update to get you moving again. When you look good, you feel good!. And with prAna’s new Fall collection, I’m ready to take my workout wardrobe to the next level and get after my Fall goals.
How are you reinvigorating your fitness motivation?
Stay sweaty friends!
XOXO,
Jamie
