We had a little taste of sunshine in Portland earlier in the week and it had me in the mood for spring; I was nearly ready to start putting the winter jackets away…for good. But that would be silly – given I’m heading to Bend this weekend for a much needed break to play in the snow (ahem, jacket necessary….), drink wine, play boardgames, and throw snowballs at my dog – not to mention the fact that it’s raining today and likely will be raining for the rest of the week as well.
To keep my spirits high, despite all of this RAIN, I’ve been arming myself with some extra spring-spiration, which involves some new workouts, recipes, apparel and even discounts (wait for it…!).
Sweat-spiration:
In my opinion, one of the best ways to get out of a funk – especially a winter related one – is to find some new sweat-spiration! Yesterday while watching the RAIN pouring outside my window, I found an awesome Kamagon Ball workout from Ellyn over at In Fitness and In Health. I love my Kamagon Ball and am always on the hunt for new ways to use it – and this workout truly has it all – legs and butts, arms, and abs – a whole body strengthener killer – perfect training for spring races and for rocking all of those spring outfits, of course.
Nom-spiration:
I have been in a kitchen rut. Ok, let’s get real, I have been in a I’m never in the kitchen anymore rut. My husband has been making us salads for lunch and dinners have been a combination of him preparing something, take out, and leftover or kitchen sink masterpieces.
I found this recipe for Middle Eastern Twice Baked Baby Eggplant from Rebecca at Strength and Sunshine – and decided this was just what I needed to get back in the kitchen and try something new. I never cook eggplant and as a vegetarian, that’s just silly as it’s a great “meaty” veggie.
Style-spiration:
The word on the #sweatpink street for the last week was that prAna just came out with their new Spring collection. I decided it was time to freshen up my spring wardrobe and found a few new must-have pieces:
Breezie Tank – in Paradise Dragonfly
I love this tank because it’s cute, colorful and perfect for yoga, running, hanging out at the dog park or coffee shop.
Once upon a time, I had the perfect skirt for all of my spring and summer adventures. And then….I left my luggage in my car and it was stolen from me…forever. I was never able to replace that skirt, until this one happened into my life: the Lizbeth Skirt from prAna.
You can wear this skirt for virtually any occasion – it’s versatile, cute and flattering – the perfect spring / summer wear everyday / replace the perfect skirt that someone stole from you many years ago, skirt.
I can only hope that keeping my sweat, meals and threads fresh will help me stay motivated during this rainy time. What are you doing to stay motivated with your winter workouts?….And, er, winter attitudes?
Stay sweaty friends!
XOXO
Jamie
Disclaimer: I partnered with prAna to review their new spring collection out of my partnership with Sweat Pink. That said, all opinions and words expressed are my very own. I truly appreciate all of the amazing brands that support the Sweat Pink community!

February 28, 2017 at 3:34 amSeriously love the skirt, I picked it too. I can’t wait for more reliable warm weather so I can wear it all the time — although it actually might look cute with leggings (lightbulb).
