If you haven’t heard, we’re currently under siege in Portland – a whole, whopping 2-5 inches of white, powdery fluffyness has single-handedly trapped school children in buses, turned daily commutes into roadtrips, and has people abandoning cars on the highway. And if you think that’s bad, it also shut down my plans for morning coffee today (thanks to Robyn for saving me from a completely coffee free morning).
I got up early the last two mornings to teach and walked five miles uphill in the snow (both ways, mind you….) to give my students the yogas they so deserve. The things I do….
I even contemplated sledding home on a BOSU. I mean, how cute would I be sledding home on my neon pink and green BOSU? HA!
Don’t be jealous, you can have one too – grab a new BYO BOSU for yourself and get FREE SHIPPING until 12/31/16 – with BYO BOSU, you can customize your BOSU dome and rim. Genius if you ask me!
Since it’s cold and icy, I’m spending my entire waking existence teaching yoga this week. And since I’ve been teaching ALL the yogas, I haven’t had a chance to do as much of the yogas so I experimented with a quick and challenging power flow to help me keep my energy up and also condition and strengthen my arms and core.
Whether you’re holed up in a yoga or ice cave this week or sitting on a tropical beach with a fruity drink in hand, give this fun power vinyasa flow transition a try – and get all the extra core strengthening and upper body toning. Just don’t forget to breathe! Of course you can always hold plank when chatturanga is unavailable and omit the toe bind and /or handstands if your practice doesn’t allow for that quite yet. Happy yoga’ing!
Namaste, y’all!
Stay sweaty friends!
XOXO
Jamie
