After an exhausting (yet amazing) week, Friday night was a sweat pants and Netflix kind of affair. We curled up on the couch, ate leftovers, and watched movies. It was perfect.
After our night of recharging, we were back in action come Saturday morning. We woke up EARLY to chase sunrise on Mt. Tam (one of my very favorite things to chase – especially if you ask me while I’m enjoying my post run coffee…) – running up to East Peak Summit and back down again before most people are even starting to stir. A good 7.5 miles – half of which is literally running (sometimes walking) up the face of a mountain.
There is really nothing like getting up and out on a mountain early. The views…the peace…the quiet…..
I rocked my new prAna Lyra jacket (which I am OBSESSED with)…
And packed a couple ShowerPill wipes so we could grab some Equator Coffee and brunch on our way back to the city without being too stinky and dirty and looking as fly as possible ;).
After brunch at the Dipsea Cafe, we walked out on the bridge and had a little yoga playtime.
Realizing how freaking tight my hips, hamstrings and quads were, I took the yoga back home with me and did about an hour of home practice. Worked on my tight parts and then did a little play time with crow to headstand transitions and different headstand “arm variations..” AKA someday I will lift my fingers off the damn ground. 😉
I don’t know if it was the run, the yoga or the amazing long, hot shower, but I was all fired up about cooking. And ended up making a bomb ass dinner. Cauliflower “rice” risotto, butter beans and kale salad and fresh lemon fro-yo. We ate like kings (hahah, literally, we ate like kings, #ImSoFunny). We were going to go see Birdman after dinner but about 15 minutes before we were supposed to leave for the 8:45 pm movie, we decided we were too tired. Yup, we’re that OLD.
Sunday, we started the morning with mint chocolate chai smoothies, did some errands and wrapped up our weekend with an amazing yoga class.
Today is a workoutpalooza. Starting with Glider Yoga at 6am, a Power Yoga class at 7 am and then a Revolutions class at Uforia Studios with my girl, Diana at 9:45 am. I have a feeling I’m gonna sleep like a baby tonight…
Stay Sweaty friends (and happy Monday!)!
XOXO,
Jamie
