Summer has me dreaming of the days I used to run around the neighborhood in my swimsuit, hopping from sprinkler, to pool, to lemonade stand, and back again.
While I don’t typically go pool and sprinkler hopping in my favorite, one piece, cut-out swimsuit anymore, I do still spend a lot of time outdoors in the summer months.
What can I say? I’ve always been a sun baby, a worshipper of her rays, a believer in the power of Vitamin D.
That being said, I know that if I want to keep my relationship with the sun on good terms, that I have to be extra careful with my skin and hair – especially now that I’m older – because the sun can wreak havoc on skin and hair if you don’t take care of it properly!
Want all the good summer vibes without wreaking havoc on your skin and hair? Try some of my favorite summer beauty fixes:
No-fuss summer hair:
In the warmer months, it’s important to cut back on shampooing your hair to allow your scalp’s oil production to re-balance itself, and take back all the moisture that it loses from the heat which is why I’m obsessed with Kerabotanica Hair Mists. Kerabotanica hair mists are formulated with health ingredients that will restore your damaged hair, leaving your hair shinier, hydrated and smelling better than your last shampoo!
Summer glow, hold the burn:
I am obsessed with the new PROTECT ME moisturizer with SPF from FRÉ Skincare. It’s light, and moisture rich all at the same time, and allows me to sweat freely without burning my eyes. It’s the best way to keep my summer glow without looking like a lobster in a leather jacket.

Beautiful, radiant summer skin:
To keep my sweaty, sunscreen topped face even more protected, I love to add a layer of Sweat Cosmetics mineral powder. It’s lightweight, barely there coverage with SPF that gives my skin exactly what it needs to stay sun ready (and keep my face from looking like Magda…ten points for anyone who gets the reference).
Soft, kissable lips:
After a lot of sun, your lips can feel like kissing the back of sponge. You feel me? That’s why I’m obsessed with EOS lip balms. They are delightfully flavored little balls of vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil. They give even the most sun kissed lips a moisture bath so they feel kissably smooth. They’re also hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, and paraben and petrolatum free. Read about EOS Lip Balm.
Soft as a baby’s butt:
It’s not just our lips that start to feel like the back of a sponge after too much sun, it’s also our bodies! Even after all the sunscreen and protection, you still need to put as much moisture back into the body as possible. I am loving Receptra™ Body Butter. It contains naturally occurring cannabinoids, antioxidants and essential nutrients that stimulate the body’s natural ability to restore it’s youth and appearance. After a long, hot day, go ahead and butter up!
Summer sunshine is calling….
Now that you have the lowdown on how to get your skin and hair looking fly this summer, spruce up your poolside game with one of the most stylish and functional towels from Nomadix. They’re great whether you’re lounging, adventuring, or playing a little yoga! Use the code Sweat Pink at checkout for 15% off your entire order.
Stay sweaty friends!
XOXO
Jamie
Disclaimer: I was provided with Kerabotanica Hair Mists, FRÉ Skincare products, Sweat Cosmetics, Receptra Naturals, and Nomadix products to review for free. I was also compensated for my review of EOs lip balms. That all being said, the words, opinions, and amazing jokes are all my own. I truly appreciate all of the brands that support the Sweat Pink community.

April 25, 2018 at 12:00 amGreat tips! Some of these, I was not aware, but now I will try. Sunscreen and facial masks have always tried to use them regularly. I have found some more excellent tips here that can lead us to shine with organic products and especially essential oils. Thank you for sharing.
