The other day I found myself completely lost in an email update from a good friend and fellow Sweat Pink ‘er (a real O.G., to say the least) who just happens to be off traveling in Europe for a month. I have been stalking her on Facebook and Instagram – in part reminiscing back to the time I spent abroad in my early 20’s – and in part just totally in awe of how she is seizing the opportunity. She’s an early 20-something traveling alone in Europe (not a new concept, sure) BUT documenting her travels and living out her experience in a lot of the same ways I might experience it now….the way I never could have when I was her age (ahem, immaturity…).
So without further adieu, let me introduce y’all to Becky, The Amazing – my Woman Crush Wednesday this week.
The funny thing is, Alyse and I have been calling Becky – The Amazing Becky or Becky, The Amazing for years – and I don’t even think she knows it…until now, that is. 🙂 Alyse even sometimes goes as far as using Becky’s name at Starbucks (you know, because Alyse is complicated to spell) – and while she says its purely for spelling sake, I think it’s because, like me, she’s channeling her inner Becky whenever and wherever she can.
Hey, it’s cool, we all do it.
If you don’t know Becky, The Amazing, let me tell you a little bit about her. She’s been working with us for about four years – all while attending UC Berkeley as an undergraduate (yes, you are reading that right). Before she was even 20 years old, she was doing her job with the utmost professionalism and grace; any time we’d reveal her age to another co-worker or even client, we’d get looks of confusion. College? What? How? What? Wait…? Are you sure?
She has the communication skills and business savvy that I’d expect from someone with years of professional experience under their belt. She’s a team player, a hard worker, honest, and smart. She’s also funny, caring and beautiful, to boot. Oh, and she has a badass handstand…
….and of course, some serious running game….
And even more impressive, she just got into the law school of her choice – University of Denver – and I could not be more proud – congrats, you SUPERSTAR, you! I don’t know how you do it but you seem to do it all.
So today, I just want to say thanks Becky for being YOU. You’re one seriously incredible, badass lady and I’m so glad I have been able to call you my friend, co-worker, fitness buddy and even pacer for the last several years. 😉
So, so, so much LOVE to you!
Stay sweaty friends!
XOXO
Jamie

April 21, 2016 at 12:49 pmAll of this is so true, and more! I am slightly creepy in my Becky obsession. Not only do I pretend to be her at Starbucks, now that I have a daughter, I’ve seriously considered calling Becky’s parents and bribing them to reveal their secrets to raising a Becky.
Becky, we love you. Thanks for being the amazing you! XOXO
