I don’t know about you but this abrupt transition from summer to fall has me feeling like….
In some ways, it’s been a blessing. With the transition from shorts and sunshine to pants, jacket and rain boots, I’ve been 10x more productive with work. I’ve found every excuse to stay glued to my laptop rather than every excuse to be outside enjoying….life. While a few days of holing up and forcing myself into productivity overdrive can be a really good thing, I know that it isn’t sustainable for the fall / winter season ahead. Because, you know, balance is supposed to be good for me.
So while sitting and staring out the window yesterday, trying to motivate myself to get up and brave the rain, I realized that I needed to hit refresh in a big way. The motivation just wasn’t going to happen on it’s own this time; this refresh into fall was going to require some big guns.
So I started with the most obvious refresh button I could find…
I went shopping (don’t tell my husband).
I realized that to truly get in the fall spirit, I was going to need some new fall threads. I don’t know about you, but for me, there’s nothing like having a few new pieces on hand to help make the transition into a new season more approachable.
After scouring the internet for ideas on cute, new fall wardrobe staples that would take me from workout to my workday, I found this great article on what’s trending for fall, and realized that prAna was the answer. Their new fall line is classic, cute, functional, and also good for the Earth, so I feel good about my purchases. And much to my husband’s approval, I used my discount code for 15% off prAna – FAJK15 (you’re welcome) – and scored some really cute stuff.
I love the way this tank fits and moves with me whether I’m practicing yoga, running errands or hanging with my pup (Abbie likes the tank, too). I love the adorable built in sports bra that adds a little pop of color and print to an otherwise perfectly basic, wear everywhere tank.
I am always on the hunt for the perfect, wear anywhere pants for fall. I am adamant about not wearing sweatpants in public, but I’m definitely OK with wearing a pant that feels like wearing sweatpants. I absolutely LOVE the Uptown Pant from prAna because they’re comfortable, live in, wear everyday pants that also look super cute. You can dress them up with a cute pair of booties or dress them down with sneakers or even bare feet while you yoga it up.
They’re great for weekend adventures, yoga, and even snuggling up on the couch with a good book!
I keep telling myself, NO MORE leggings. But then I saw these leggings on one of my students and absolutely fell in love with them. They’re so flattering on and they come in great colors like plum and green! I loved them so much that I got two pairs – black (because, hey, you can’t go wrong) and plum.

I mixed up my morning routine.
Gasp, I know. How could I disrupt something already so magical? I decided to make some small tweaks that might help me get myself back on track, starting with adding Amazing Grass’ new Belly Elixir to my morning smoothies. The new Belly Elixirs are a blend of farm fresh greens and herbs that will help balance your energy levels and support your gut whether you mix it into water or add it to your favorite smoothie recipe.
I am loving the new Belly Elixir with mixed with cashew milk, banana, coconut and peanut butter. Don’t knock it till you try it!

I spruced up my beauty routine.
The abrupt shift in weather had my skin feeling extra dry and chapped. To give my skin a good cleanse and renew, I tried a new cleanser and body wash from True Botanicals. I love True Botanicals new line because it’s super concentrated and contains bio-active ingredients that don’t harm you or your skin!
I also rehydrated my skin using Sahajan’s nourishing face cream which is light, hydrating and refreshing. I love Sahajan’s Ayurvedic skincare line because they are powerful, organic products that are also cruelty-free and free from parabens, phthalates, sulphates, petroleum, BHT, DEA, TEA, propylene glycol, diazolidinyl urea, artificial colors or synthetic fragrance, and more!
And lastly, I’ve been soaking it up in Sumswida’s Enchanted Soak bath crystals, thanks to my good yogi friend and creator, Krystal. Drop a few into your bath, lay back, soak and feel epic when you get out.
And lastly, I gave myself a little grace.
As someone who is used to being go, go, go all the time, hitting a little slump can feel almost devastating. It’s like a shock to your system. You go from busy, constantly moving to finding more time for rest and recovery. And while slowing down and sitting still is absolutely one of the hardest things for me to do, I’ve also felt some benefits from it as well. While I’m motivated to stay on track with eating right and exercising this fall, I’m also allowing myself a little more space to breath, relax, and restore. If this summer end slump taught me anything, it’s that our bodies try to tell us to slow down subtly at first….and then they give you a full on slow the F* down or else ultimatum. I got the slow the F* down signal and now here I am…..slowing the F* down.
So while I recommit myself to moving, I am also committed to giving myself a little grace. I’m going to read a few books. Sleep in one morning a week. And maybe even sit still for a hot second.
How are you hitting refresh for this fall season? Any good books I should be reading? Leave me all the thoughts and comments!
As always, stay sweaty friends!
Disclaimer: I was provided with prAna clothing and Amazing Grass products for review through my partnership with Fit Approach. I was also gifted products from Sahajan and Sumswida. That being said, all of the above thoughts, opinions, and words are my very own. I truly appreciate all of the brands that support the Sweat Pink community.
