We were a little worried that we wouldn’t find another neighborhood pizza spot when we moved to Portland. After having Delarosa so close by for so many years as our go to, we were admittedly a little spoiled.
But not to fear, we found the pizza in our Portland neighborhood at Lovely’s Fifty-Fifty. And it’s damn good pizza.
They have woodfired ovens and good selection of veggie friendly pizzas. We decided to go for two pizzas so we could try more (and have leftovers, of course!). We went with the spinach with crushed tomatoes, calabrian chilies & feta and the radish & pea greens with sorrel, green garlic & fromage blanc. They were both super good. I think I liked the one with pea greens the best but it’s truly hard to say. They were both really good.
Oh and let’s not forget, they also have damn good ice cream. We got the Buckwheat Honey and Toffee and the Parsley Vanilla Bean. I think I liked the Parsley Vanilla Bean best. It was like vanilla bean but with a crisp, grassy (in a good way) aftertaste. The Buckwheat Honey and Toffee was good too – just a little on the sweet side for me.
We came home to this sweet (but crazy) little monster. 😉
That’s what’s cookin’ over here.
Stay sweaty friends!
