I’m excited to be picking up my in-laws at the airport this afternoon; they’ll be in town through the weekend so we’ll have plenty of time to explore the city, great restaurants and of course, all the magical outdoor spaces in Portland and the surrounding PNW.
Plus, Abbie will have two more people to terrorize for a whole week….so she’s pretty excited as well!
Anytime we have guests (especially when its family), I like to get everything ready to make their visit as comfortable as possible : a stocked fridge, a clean house, a few plans on where to eat, drink and play and of course a clean puppy (Abbie got a bath!).
For this visit, I got everything done but the plans part of the equation. Being relatively new to the city, I still just don’t really know where all of the best places to eat, drink and play are so we’ll have to wing it and experiment a bit (and of course rely heavily on our friends).
Here are a few things on the list thus far:
- Explore Mt. Hood
- Hike around the Gorge (naturally)
- Eat good food
- Drink delicious wine…and beer
- Exercise the puppy
- Celebrate Mother’s Day
If anyone has any good suggestions for Mother’s Day brunch spots (maybe even in Mt. Hood?) or things to do in Mt. Hood and / or places (trails?) to go, that would be much appreciated!
What’s everyone else’s plans for Mother’s Day weekend?
Stay sweaty friends!
XOXO,
Jamie
