As I mentioned before, we were leaving Phoenix on Christmas morning to head up to Sacramento to spend some time with my family for the holidays. After back to back early morning workouts on Christmas Eve day followed by a lot of friend visiting and a trip to Jobot Coffee in downtown Phoenix, (delicious – highly recommend you go there!)…
…family dinner (tamales – yay!), stockings, and then a late night candlelight church service, I was wiped out.
Needless to say, getting up early the next morning (Christmas day) was rough. By the time we were through security in PHX, I was already two coffees deep. I got another coffee at the gate and then landed in Sacramento, headed home and found my way to more coffee.
The rest of the day was filled with food, drinking, family, presents, and a nice walk to the park with the fam.
Plus a Snail Running Team photoshoot (I mean, of course, duh).
Christmas – both in PHX and in Sacramento – was amazing. We got to spend a lot of quality time with family and friends and enjoyed so much good food, wine and coffee! 😉
The day after Christmas we were in need of a good sweat session and decided it would be fun to finally try Orange Theory – Casey wanted to do weights so I figured it would be a good chance to do a little bit of everything – weights, cardio and interval training. There’s an Orange Theory not too far from my parent’s house so I decided to give it a go. We got there about 20 minutes before the start of class and went to the front desk to sign-in and were told we were numbers 1 and 2 on the waitlist and just to wait and see if there was room. They didn’t ask us any questions or offer any information about the studio. Finally, about two minutes before class was supposed to start, they asked us if we had our own straps (heart rate monitors, I’m guessing). We said no and that we were brand new to Orange Theory. From there, she basically said, oh well we’ll have to reschedule you for another class because we have an onboarding process that takes too much time for you to take class now. Well, we had been waiting already for quite some time. And had they asked us when we first arrived or bothered to speak to us at all, we could’ve solved that issue then. So we wasted a good 25 minutes of our morning waiting around only to be told we weren’t going to be able to workout after all. Awesome. And worst part, no apology. Nothing. Just ok, yeah, so we won’t have time. Are you kidding??? At $25 for an hour class, you’d think they’d be better about customer service.
Anyway, we ended up going to my parent’s tennis club and used the gym there instead. Here’s our workout.

December 28, 2014 at 5:52 pmI haven’t been ice skating in way too long! The last time was at Rockefeller center so it was a lot of weaving around unstable skaters and not a lot of actual skating. Looks like you guys had fun! 🙂
