On Sunday we woke up to heavy rain and decided it was the perfect excuse to sip lattes and laze around the house. I caught up on some work and Casey caught up on some long overdue cleaning. By noon, we were both feeling a little antsy and decided it was time to get moving. We’ve been on such a good streak with the Holiday Sweat Challenge that we decided to run and get in a little circuit workout despite our tired, sore legs. We ran 4.5 miles through the Presidio on some pretty muddy trails…
After our run, we made our way to the gym for a workout and I challenged myself with some heavier weights on both chest flies and rows. I am feeling it this morning and wondering how I’m ever going to get through yoga and bootcamp tonight. Here’s a snapshot of our workout yesterday:
- Chest flies (10) + press (10) – 20 lbs
- Bosu reverse lunges (20)
- Chest flies (10) + press (8) – 20 lbs
- Bosu side lunges (20)
- Chest flies (10) + press (8) – 20 lbs
- One legged squats on Bosu (15), Bosu squats (10)
- Single arm rows 20 lbs – 10/side
- Bosu step ups with lunges (20)
- Single arm rows 20 lbs – 10/side
- Bosu lifts (15)
- Single arm rows 20 lbs – 10/side
- Hamstring extenders (20)
- Hanging ab pikes (3×10)
- Pectoral flies (3×10) – 40 lbs
- Glute circles (1:30/each side)
- Push-ups (25)
- Glute circles (1:00/each side)
- In/Out abs (15)
- Glute circles (45sec/each side)
- Bicycles (50)
- TRX push-ups (25)
After the gym, I tallied up my points for the week and am happy to report, I came in with a whopping 71.4 points!! Boom. But unfortunately while I was busy showering and tallying up my Holiday Sweat points, Casey was busy making himself a snack in the kitchen and managed to slice his finger pretty deep – meaning a quick trip to urgent care, five stitches and a tetanus shot. Eeek!
As soon as we got back from urgent care, we were off again as we had a movie date with CJ, Travis, Kellen, Ehrin, Seth, Sara, and Jenny at the Roxie theater for the Rainshadow Running Trail Running film fest. More on that soon!
