Even though my bootcampers totally bailed on me this morning (ahem, slept in…), I got my butt out to the Lyon Street stairs anyway to keep myself accountable to the #SweatPink #NoExcuses Challenge with Augusta Active.
I only really had about 40 minutes to squeeze a workout in so figured I’d do about a 3 mile run, incorporate some stairs and then be on my merry way…BACK TO WORK. Once I was up the first round of stairs (244 steps, 150 feet of altitude change), I figured I still had time for more. So down I went – stopping in the middle for tricep dips, incline push-ups and box jumps on the bench, of course. On my up the second time, I stopped again for more tri dips, push-ups and box jumps and then once at the top, thought, why stop there? I ended up doing the stairs about 3.5 times with mini workouts intertwined every time I crossed by the bench.
After my last climb (basically once I was at 100 push-ups), I decided I’d push all the way up to the top of the hill and then make my way towards another set of stairs (though a little smaller) on Fillmore. I did a couple repeats on the Fillmore stairs before zigzagging my way back home.
All in all, I got in a good 3 sweaty miles of stairs and hills in about 35 minutes…PLUS:
- Tricep dips (20)
- Box jumps (20)
- Push-ups with feet on the bench (25)
- Run up the stairs and back down….
