Tuesdays are my usual leg days. I typically get up for a 6 am workout that lasts about an hour and a half (give or take) and involves somewhere around 3-5 miles and a weights circuit. And I’ve been feeling so into my workouts lately; this whole month I’ve felt super on it. Until today… that is.
Last night I was feeling more spent than usual but didn’t think too much of it. I figured I needed a good night’s rest and a big glass (or bowl) of water. I got up this morning and was still feeling pretty spent. It was like my body was rebelling. I was tight, tired, and unmotivated. When I finally got around to getting on with my workout (#noexcuses y’all), it was just super uninspired. I got through my treadmill speedwork by gluing my eyes to the clock and telling myself….20 more minutes, 15 more minutes, 10 more minutes and so on and so forth. I was a hot sweaty mess but managed to get in a good 5 miles. When I got off the treadmill I didn’t feel inspired or good though, just spent.
I attempted to get in some weights and got through a couple totally uninspired workouts. Mostly squats and push-ups. Here’s what I did today:
- Squats with overhead press – 40 lb weight (15 reps)
- Push-ups (25)
- Squats with overhead press – 40 lb weight (15 reps)
- Push-ups (25)
- Squats with overhead press – 40 lb weight (15 reps)
- Push-ups (25)
- Low squats over a weight (20)
- Push-ups (30)
- Squats holding a 25 lb weight (20)
- Push-ups (10)
- Squats on Bosu (30)
- Hamstring curls (10 reps with 50 lbs)
- Push-ups (10)
- Hamstring curls (10 reps with 50 lbs)
- Mountain climbers (30 secs)
- Hamstring curls (10 reps with 50 lbs)
- In & out abs (15)
Uninspired but hey, at least I got my #SweatPink #NoExcuses push-ups in!
Tonight I’m going to stick with my Tuesday yoga routine but I think the theme will be “take it a bit easy.” More child’s pose, less chin stands kind of practice.
Hoping tomorrow I wake up feeling refreshed and back on it. How was your workout today?
Stay sweaty friends!
XOXO,
Jamie

January 21, 2015 at 2:03 pmOh Jamie, we all have days like that. What’s important is that you powered through and did break a sweat and challenge yourself. Even an uninspiring workout is better than none at all. You’re an animal! 🙂

January 21, 2015 at 7:56 pmYou had a pretty solid workout for not feeling like working out! Major kudos to you for getting all of that done! I actually didn’t work out today–I’m feeling sick and my body was telling me that I needed to rest. Hoping to be back at it tomorrow!
